Meet the Team

Marta Lister & Mary O'Brien
Mary O'Brien has gone from the Hollywood stage to the home stage. While working on General Hospital (as the rather unsavory character "Heather") and in many television shows, commercials, and movies, Mary was intrigued with the speed and creativity by which a room or a whole set could be transformed through simple redesign. After testing the "One Day Design" concept on her fellow actor's homes, she was so successful that a real passion developed and a whole new career was born. She worked with an interior designer after moving to Las Vegas who specialized in furnishing model homes.

Mary met Marta Lister, a former special education teacher while walking their dogs in the neighborhood ((they knew the dogs names but not each other's for a while!). Marta too was beginning a new career after studying interior re-design.

Together they founded Improving Spaces as a company which specializes in home staging and interior redesign.
